This was a very busy week for rooms 12 and 14.
Last night we had our school wide Celebration of learning, an Art Walk! There was a lot of different and interesting art on display. Joy really liked the music that the choir performed. Shreya like the buskers that were performing in the learning commons or in the hall. Alveena liked the handbells. Justine thought that the bake sale was delicious.
On Wednesday we went on a field trip to the Calgary Humane Society. We saw lots of really cute animals. We learned about reptiles and amphibians. We learned that the difference between reptiles and amphibians are: amphibians has skin and reptiles have scales, reptiles have claws and amphibians don't, amphibians need to live in and around the water and reptiles live out of the water. We got to pet a Gecko called Gertie, her scales felt soft like leather.
In Social Studies this week we had our first test about India. We will be studying Ukraine next.
In Science we tested different fasteners, they are things that hold different materials together. Some of the fasteners that we tested were: marshmallows, elastic bands. plasticine, knex and tape. We also watched a video about how some of the biggest skyscrapers are built.
In Math, we continued to learn about multiplication and Mrs McLellan's group is beginning to learn about division.
