Happy Holidays!

This has been a busy week in rooms 12 and 14.

In science we have started the Building and Testing materials units.  We designed popcorn bags for cineplex theaters.  We still need to test our bags after the holidays to see which group was the most successful.   Some of the criteria for our bags was: they needed to be sturdy, fit a lot of pop corn and fit hands into the top of the bag.  We used paper, staples, tape and glue to create out bags.

In gym this week, we created our own dances, we practiced and then we performed them for the class.   On Wednesday we went outside and used the snowshoes.

On Tuesday we had our class potluck.  The food was delicious.  We had lots of choices of food to try.  We got to try food that we had never had before from all over the world.  Mr Robinson came and had lunch with us.

In anticipation of the upcoming holidays, we had several Christmas activities.  We visited the Christmas store to purchase gifts for our friends and families.  We made cards and snowmen ornaments in our class.  We went to the gym for caroling and listened to the choir and handbells one day.  The grade 5 and 6 students had a bake sale to raise money for the Drop In center.

We hope that everyone has a very happy holiday!  Try and get outside and play over the holidays!  We will see you back at school on Monday January the 8th.
